Located 12 km from our B&B, the Ancient Medieval Village of Populonia was an ancient Etruscan settlement and today is a popular destination for lovers of history, archaeology and unspoilt nature.
The fortress and the preserved village surrounded by the walls overlook the splendid Golfo di Baratti, offering a spectacular view of the crystal blue sea.
Built on the remains of the Ancient Etruscan City, in Populonia you can visit the Archaeological Park and the Etruscan Museum.
Located just 10 km from our B&B, Baratti is one of Tuscany's most enchanting gulfs. A magical place where time has stopped in the Etruscan era. It provides a natural shelter to the port and to all the tourists who, not only in summer, want to make the most of its beaches and the countless nature trails to be enjoyed by foot or mountain bike. With its characteristic horseshoe shape, the "pratone" and the typical pine trees that almost reach the beach, the Golfo di Baratti is one of the destinations not to be missed during your holiday in Tuscany
7 km away from our B&B, the medieval village of Suvereto is a settlement dating back to the 10th century, and one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The walls and towers of the "Borgo" are small architectural treasures such as the fortress "Rocca Aldobrandesca", the town hall and the Franciscan Monastery. During your visit to Suvereto, make sure you go wine tasting at one of the town's wine cellars or wine shops, or one nearby: a tasteful and relaxing occasion.
30 km away from our B&B, the town of Massa Marittima is one of our area's gems and has one of the most beautiful squares in Italy. The Duomo, dating back to the mid-12th century, represents one of the most important monuments of Romanesque art in the Maremma and Tuscany. In the old part of town, you can take advantage of the numerous restaurants to sample typical Tuscan products.
During your holiday, dedicate a whole day to discover Piombino, a town still unknown to many that hides some unique treasures, such as the small port Porticciolo di Marina where the fishermen depart and return every day in their small, colourful boats. Worth a visit is the splendid and unique square Piazza Bovio, surrounded on three sides by the crystal blue sea. From the end of the square on very clear days, it appears as if you can almost touch the island of Elba!
The town of San Vincenzo is a popular destination for young people, thanks to its lively nightlife, which especially in summer, concentrates on the seafront. Shops open until late at night, and the discos and pubs become the beating heart of the town. Allow yourself some time to walk along the promenade Camminata del Marinaio, so named for the striking statue by the artist Giampaolo Talani, which depicts a sailor welcoming the incoming boats.
