The Beach of Torre Mozza

The Beach of Torre Mozza

is located just 10 km from Venturina Terme and is a beautiful resort characterized by the presence of an ancient tower dating back to the 1500s, built for the purpose of sighting possible Saracen raids. Parking lots, located behind Torre Mozza beach, may be insufficient during the high season due to the high influx of bathers.

The beach offers both equipped areas with bathing establishments and a portion of free beach, perfect for those seeking a more natural experience. The surrounding environment is pristine, with sand dunes and reeds, as the beach is part of the Sterpaia Coastal Park. Completely immersed in this protected area, Torre Mozza beach stands out for its scenic beauty and the crystal clear sea that washes it. The tower that gives the location its name extends to the sea waters, giving visitors a visible sense of the majesty and defensive importance it once had against Saracen threats.

Diving and snorkeling enthusiasts will find Torre Mozza an ideal spot: just thirty meters from the shore is a reef just below the water level. This natural reef is populated by a rich marine fauna, including bream, bass, octopus, and bream. Curiously, some believe that this reef may be a submerged section of the historic Via Aurelia, which connected Rome to Cerveteri.

Starting from the Guest House La Vecchia Fonte, the beach can be easily reached by car by following the Aurelia road in the direction of Follonica
