BB La Vecchia Fonte

Carbonifera Beach Tuscany.

A beach with white sand and shallow water is perfect for everyone.

Carbonifera beach is immersed in the Sterpaia Coastal Park, just 12 km from the Vecchia Fonte Guest House, with fine sand dunes and a lush, centuries-old pine forest behind it, able to immerse you a natural and perfect environment to shelter from the heat in the most torrid hours.

The beach gives tourists deep blue, clear water that gradually slopes down becoming the perfect beach for families with children.

Carbonifera Beach is bordered on one side by the equally beautiful Torre Mozza Beach, and like the latter, it is characterized by the presence of an artificial reef set a few meters from the shore. This is defined by many as part of the ancient Via Aurelia, but the most important thing is that this reef is now home to numerous marine species, so all you need to do is arm yourself with a mask and snorkel to admire these wonders of mother nature up close!

Complementing this wonderful scenery is the view from the beach ofElba Island andMontecristo Island, a spectacle that becomes even more impressive on a clear day.

Carbonifera Beach is one of the wonderful beaches of the Maremma not to be missed that gives the idea of being right in a natural pool!

But where does its name come from?
The significance of this beautiful beach is linked to the history of its territory, in fact a Spiaggia Carbonifera takes its particular name from the nineteenth-century tower that still dominates the beach, a former trading post that marked the terminal point of the railroad that once ran through all the Colline Metallifere Grossetane by which coal from the mines reached the sea.
